Education in Australia

State and Territory governments and non-government school authorities are responsible for providing education services. The Federal Government provides supplementary funds in the form of general recurrent and capital grants, and plays a central role in achieving cooperation in the national education system, largely through the Ministerial Council for Education, Employment, Training and Youth Affairs.
