Honorary Consul in Venice

Australia is represented in Venice by Honorary Consul Massimo Colomban.

The Veneto region is home to a large Australian-Italian community and Mr Colomban has extensive experience with Italian business and has worked with a number of Australian companies.

Mr Colomban founded and was Chairman of Permasteelisa from 1974 to 2002 where he established close ties in Australia working on projects including the refurbishment of the façade of the Sydney Opera House and the construction of many other towers in Sydney, Melbourne and around the world. He is actively involved in the field of architecture and has lectured at several universities including Harvard and MIT-Boston.

Mr Colomban was President of VEGA, a Science and Technology Park for 200 innovative companies and organizations and he is now involved in a business advisory capacity with several start up companies.

The Consulate makes available consular services to many Australians residents citizens in or visiting the Veneto Region. The Consulate also fosters economic and cultural relationships between Australia and the Veneto Region.
