ITALIAN RESIDENTS APPLYING FOR PARTNER
AND CERTAIN FAMILY RELATED MIGRATION VISAS
This notice affects residents of Italy applying for certain family stream permanent visas.
In September 2007, the Australian Department of Immigration And Citizenship (DIAC) restructured its overseas operations in order to provide improved services to clients resident in Italy. Since that time, all family related migration applications from residents of Italy are processed by DIAC staff in Berlin.
These applications include:
• spouse, fiancé and interdependent partners of Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or eligible New Zealand citizens;
• family members including last remaining relatives, carers, or aged dependent relatives of Australian citizens; Australian permanent residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens;
• children of Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens.
If you are a resident of Italy and you wish to lodge an application for one of the above permanent visas, you will need to forward the application to the Australian Embassy, Berlin for processing.
You can send your application by registered post: or by courier, or in person.
For information the Australian Embassy in Berlin accepts credit card payments, and further details can be found at the Australian Embassy Berlin website: www.germany.embassy.gov.au. The site also provides a range of further information.
